ABOUT DAY ONE
In 2018, Stacey Copeland became the first British woman to win the Commonwealth Boxing Championship. Stacey writes about this experience in Urban Kingdom’s book ‘Generation W’.
In the summer of 2020, British based rap musician LADY SANITY, who performed at the 2018 Commonwealth Games closing ceremony, opens Generation Worldwide, a Generation W spin off festival to celebrate female artists around the world.
NANNA.B follows, wearing her ‘Quarantina’ custom made jumper. The Danish musician, recording from her home in Los Angeles, USA, provides a mellow set to chill you out amongst the lonely lockdowns of 2020. More relaxing sets in hectic cities follow from SILVER ROSE in Mexico City, Mexico, KAVYA in New Delhi, India and YEHAIYAHAN in Shanghai, China.
MALI HAYES then performs from Manchester, England, the city which founded the Suffragette Women’s Rights movement in the United Kingdom that fought for women’s equality rights under law. OLIVIA SWANN, plays a smooth laidback piano set from her studio to end Day One of Generation Worldwide.
In amongst day one of Generation Worldwide is a Q+A from Egyptian musician FAYROUZ KARAWYA.
